Privacy Policy

GS Companion has no ads and no tracking. Accounts are optional: sign in with Discord to keep your box, stats, teams and companion on every device. Signed out, they stay in your own browser unless you copy a share link. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't identify you.

About GS Companion

GS Companion is a free, unofficial fan tool for the mobile game Grand Summoners. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Good Smile Company or NextNinja.

What we collect

If you don't sign in, nothing that identifies you. The site never asks for your email address, and there is no contact form.

Accounts (Discord sign-in)

Signing in is optional. Everything on the site works without it. When you sign in with Discord, Discord asks you to let GS Companion read your basic profile (the identify permission). We never see your email address, your password, your servers or your messages.

This is stored on our host, Cloudflare, and used only to show your data back to you on your devices. We don't sell it, share it or use it for anything else.

Community Tier List

Signed in, you can submit one tier list to the Community Tier List. We keep the list (which units you placed, in which tier and order) with your Discord user ID, and when you first submitted and last changed it. Your list is private: the site only shows the combined list made from everyone's, and how many lists placed each unit in each tier. The exception is content creators who agree with us to have their own tier list page (for example Quasar's Tier List): the list they submit is shown on that page with their name and channel. The site owner can see each submitted list with the Discord name that sent it, only to remove lists submitted to spoil the results. Discord accounts less than 30 days old can't submit; we read an account's age from its Discord user ID. You can remove your list at any time on My Tier List, and deleting your account removes it too. Data stored in your browser

Signed in or not, the site works from a copy in your browser's local storage. My Box saves which units you own, and My Stats saves what you enter (favourite units, username, player rank, crest counts, Mines and Grand Crusade progress), in your browser's local storage. The unit picker also remembers whether My Box only is ticked. My Teams saves the teams you save (units, equips, title, stage and clear time) and your share card choices. My Companion saves which unit you picked, where it stands and whether it wanders. My Tier List saves the list you are making, so unsubmitted changes stay on that device, and the tier list pages remember whether Ascended only is on. Settings saves whether Show JP units is on. Wallpapers saves the choices you made there. Screenshots you import on My Box are read in your browser and never uploaded. Signed out, none of it is sent to us or anyone else unless you copy a share link (see Share links below). Signed in, My Box, My Stats, My Teams and your companion choice are also saved to your account (see above), and the browser keeps your signed-in profile and what it last synced. You can:

Team builder and damage calculator setups are kept in the page address (the part after #), so a setup only leaves your device if you copy its share link or share the address yourself. Filter settings on the Units and Equips pages are kept in the address too.

Share links

The Copy link buttons (My Box, My Stats, My Teams and My Tier List share cards, team builder, damage calculator) make a short link such as gscompanion.com/t/1gE7cv1. To make it work, what the link shares (units, equips, LB levels, stats, tier lists, and any title or name you typed) is saved on our host, Cloudflare, under that short code. Nothing else is saved with it: no IP address, account or device details. Anyone who has the short link can open it, and short links are kept so they keep working. To have one removed, email us the link.

Signed in, you can turn on Show my Discord name on My Stats. Your share cards then show your Discord display name next to your name, and the share links you copy from My Stats, My Teams and My Tier List also carry your Discord display name and user ID, so whoever opens one can follow it to your Discord profile. It is off unless you turn it on, and links copied while it was off carry neither.

Cookies and tracking

GS Companion does not use advertising or cross-site tracking. It sets cookies only to sign you in: while you are signed in, __Host-gs_session holds your session code (your browser's scripts can't read it) and gs_user holds your Discord user ID, so the site knows to sync without asking the server first. During sign-in, gs_oauth holds a one-time check code for up to 10 minutes. Signed out, the site sets no cookies.

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It records the page visited, the referring site, and your browser, operating system, device type and country, plus page load times. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. We only see totals, never individual visitors. See Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Services the site relies on

Links to other sites (community guides on Google Docs, Discord, grandsummoners.info) are covered by those sites' own policies.

Children

Accounts use Discord sign-in, and Discord requires its users to be at least 13 (older in some countries). We don't knowingly keep personal information about children under 13. If you think a child has an account here, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. If the site starts collecting anything new, this page will say so before that feature goes live.
